Roper Drive In

Constructed in the summer of 1954, the Roper Drive In was once a favorite hangout of Fallon residents.  “… thoughts of going to the drive-in bring back fond memories of piling family or friends into a car, sharing a bucket of hot, buttery popcorn and watching a favorite movie while trying to listen over the crackling of the car speaker.” (LVN article, January 11, 1994)

For many years the screen and a few lone speaker stands stood as testimony to a unique era in entertainment but the site was totally demolished in September 2004.
