Online Resources

The bulk of our research material is only available in the museum, but here are some helpful resources to get you started at home. You can also reach out to ask if we have materials on certain topics.

  • InFocus Index: This is a complete index of topics covered in our journal, InFocus. We have a full series available for research, and most copies can be purchased from the museum store. The first 14 volumes of InFocus are also available online here.
  • CCMA Oral History Project: These interviews, mostly conducted in the late 1990s and early 2000s, capture much of Churchill County’s history. The database can be searched or browsed.
  • Property Tax Inquiry: Useful for finding some history of properties in Churchill County, also contains plat maps that can be more easily cross-referenced with historic maps.
  • Reference Library Catalog: Our reference library is cataloged with the Churchill County Library. The location will be listed as “Churchill County Library – Churchill County Museum.” Having the book titles (and call numbers) ahead of time will assist museum staff in locating the books for you on your visit to the museum. Materials may NOT be checked out from our reference library.
